Sep 2, 2025 RIBBA Young Entrepreneurs Secure $11,000 in Capital Funding
Providence, RI — RIBBA was thrilled to host its energetic Young Adult Business Pitch Competition at its Hub on 220 Smith Street in Providence, RI. The event, in partnership with Papitto Opportunity Connection Foundation, who provided the funding, brought together ambitious young entrepreneurs from across Rhode Island, showcasing their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit. Seven enterprising young Rhode Island entrepreneurs, aged 18 to 30, presented their innovative business ideas before a distinguished panel of judges.
The competition culminated in an exciting announcement of the 2025 winners:
🥇 First Place – $5,000: Joahluis Molina, That Junk Removal Company
🥈 Second Place – $3,000: Vedjee Belin, Vee Natural Care
🥉 Third Place – $2,000: Joely Ilarraza, All Things Tropical
RIBBA is proud to support and empower Rhode Island’s small businesses and the next generation of business owners. This event exemplifies the organizations commitment to fostering entrepreneurial talent, providing a platform for young entrepreneurs to shine and connect with the community. RIBBA also awarded a $250 grant to the remaining four finalists, further encouraging and supporting the growth of emerging entrepreneurs.
To prepare for the event, each participant underwent meticulous training in crafting and delivering a
compelling business pitch. The final verdict was entrusted to a panel of esteemed judges, including experienced professionals from Rhode Island’s business community: David Ferreira from Bristol County Savings Bank, Carlos Vargas from Navigant Credit Union, and Cynthia Scott, former board chair of RIBBA. The evaluation criteria focused on the strength and originality of the participants’ ideas, the potential immediate impact of their proposed use of funds, and the strategic depth of their business plans.
